Napa Is More Than Just Amazing Wine

Before or after you drink wine in Napa there is a ton to do and some of the activities are FREE! I just spent the day in Leadership Napa Valley on Tourism Day. We had an in depth and behind the scenes look at what makes tourism tick in the Napa Valley. Armed with this information I'm ready to share what you can do in Napa besides drink some of the world's best wine. (Live links to each website are below) Hess Art Collection FREE http://www.hesscollection.com/art/ My children love to visit this ever changing exhibit and there is wine in their tasting room after for me as well.

Di Rosa Preserve Art Collection http://www.dirosaart.org/ My parents, siblings and our children all enjoyed this outing. It appeal to all ages and is located right across the street from Domaine Carneros ;). Yountville Art Walk FREE http://www.townofyountville.com/home/showdocument?id=4630 Grab a treat from Bouchon and look for each art piece mentioned on the map/brochure. Copia- (Coming Soon) FREE Chuck Williams', of Williams and Sonoma, Culinary Art Collection https://enthusiasts.ciachef.edu/cia-at-copia/ It is now free to enter the Copia building and it will soon be bursting with art exhibits not to mention wine and dining. This location is the school's chance to interact more fully with the community. Classes and experiences are already offered. Hiking at Bothe including the Bale Mill FREE http:

//www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=477 http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=482 Excellent hiking trails that anyone ability level can enjoy. Bale Mill is a fun discovery while hiking although it is only operating on the weekends. This park even offers in expensive camp grounds and new yurts (reservations recommended). Additional hiking favorites include Alston Park, Westwood Hills and Skyline Park. Bike on the Vine Trail FREE https://vinetrail.org/ A flat, scenic bike trail separated from traffic which is perfect for family or leisurely bike rides. I recommend parking at the Red Hen Cantina in Napa and then biking to Yountville which is less than a 6 mile bike ride. Bocce in Yountville FREE http://www.townofyountville.com/departments-services/parks-recreation/parks-and-facilities/park-trail-and-bocce-court-information You can reserve the courts ahead of time although most of the time my family an friends have no problem just walking up. You can bring a picnic or go across the street to Addendum (behind AdHoc) to purchase some of Thomas Keller's famous

fried chicken to go. Bring a volleyball for the sand court in case you have to wait for a bocce court. Golf https://www.visitnapavalley.com/things-to-do/spas-wellness/golf-tennis/?skip=0&sort=rankTitle&alphastart=&alphaend=&subcatids%5B0%5D=390&keyword= Visit one of Napa's 10 golf courses open to the public. Vintner's Golf Club is most centrally located in Yountville. Eagle Vines and Chardonnay are other favorites. If you want to play where the Safeway Open PGA tournament is played every October, then don't miss Silverado Country Club in Napa. Old Faithful Geyser http://www.oldfaithfulgeyser.com/ Visit this natural phenomenon close to Castello di Amorosa and downtown Calistoga. Hot Air Balloon Ride http://balloonrides.com/ An exciting, early morning way to see the Napa Valley as it wakes up. Afraid of heights? Watch these graceful, floating works of art take off from Solano Ave. between Napa and Yountville most clear, still mornings and follow them to their landing. Truly picture perfect! Bottlerock http://www.bottlerocknapavalley.com/ It wouldn't be right not to mention the amazing music festival of which us local are so proud. If you haven't been able to secure tickets for one of these put it on your short list. The food, the wine, the MUSIC is like no other festival you've ever attended. Looking for more ideas?
