Local Community Service Opportunity

Tis the Season to spread some Christmas cheer...through service & love!

During this time of year, my family is typically participating in local service events such as the throwing a holiday party at the Rainbow House, ringing bells for Salvation Army, and helping parents pick out free gifts from Napa County Holiday Assistance Program. This year these events are not taking place but that doesn’t mean we can’t help, especially with so many more people in need.

Here are ways that you can volunteer over the next month!

These messages are from 3 very involved families that run/support local organizations in Napa and are amazing. The first is from the GIGG…

We have Adopted Families...For years we have supported families in need by supporting them through the holidays. I have connected with Catholic Charities and we will be providing Christmas to all the families living at the Rainbow House. It is our goal to provide gifts, clothing, and food for these families!! All items must be turned in by Friday, December 18th! Please drop off to my house (3371 Browns Valley Rd.) or to Justin-Siena!

Make sure to wrap and label all gifts!

Also...The GIGG is excited to partner with TEAM Morales Events for Movie Nights at the Napa Fairgrounds Expo. We are the highlighted non-profit this week!

We are scheduled for the evenings of 12/3 - 12/6. Come and work from 5-7:30pm and then feel free to stay and watch the movie!

Tonight:

12/6:CHRISTMAS VACATION

We need volunteers, but we also want to support Team Morales! If you have not yet been out there, it is a blast! To purchase tickets, go to: https://www.teammoralesevents.com/movie-nights. By December

This one is from BE KIND NAPA

We are partnering with other groups in our Napa community to help collect backpacks filled with essential items for those in Napa experiencing homelessness. The Napa County Shelter (which is now open year-round because of the increased need) will distribute the backpacks. Please consider signing up to donate a filled backpack by clicking on the red donation button at the end of this email.

Donations can be dropped off to Judd's Hill winery (2332 Silverado Trail) every day between 10am-4pm until December15th. If you are not able to drop off your donation, we are happy to pick it up from you. Please contact Holly Finkelstein by emailing holly@juddshill.com

Thank you for your generosity and keeping our community kind!

Anyone want to help me and the boys fill backpacks for ADULTS experiencing homelessness? The goal is to produce 150 filled backpacks for Abode services by December 15th. Would you like to donate a full back pack or some of the items needed? See below from Abode flyer - I’m happy to pick up in Napa area.

Winter Fill-a-Backpack Drive

We are collecting filled backpacks to hand out to people experiencing homelessness to keep our neighbors warm throughout the winter!

Please include the following items in each backpack:

● Socks

● Gloves

● Beanie

● Water bottle

● Snack (sealed, shelf-stable)

● Razor

● Chapstick

● Bandaids

● Lotion

● Toothbrush/toothpaste

● Kleenex

Additional Items:

Think about what you might want in your pack if you lived in a tent, car, RV or

temporary shelter, and include that too!

If you know of additional ways to serve this holiday season, please share. I’d love to spread the word.
