Happy llama, Sad llama, Drama llama.... See what drama you can unfold on your own adventure! Be a tourist in your own valley! This is the perfect plan for a Friday excursion. Start at St. Helena’s Crane Park for the weekly Friday morning Farmer’s Market. http://sthelenafarmersmkt.org/ The market offers amazing produce and delicacies which you can enjoy while playing bocce, watching the skateboarders in the skate park or just taking in the views near the tire swing. Crane park is well shaded with so water play for the little one’s. Make a quick stop in St. Helena at the local favorite, Giugnis Deli to pick up some sandwiches. Bring cash and don’t forget to pick up some of their secret sauce. https://www.menuism.com/restaurants/giugnis-deli-saint-helena-356299 Next, park at Boethe park for some hiking. http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=477 We enjoyed hiking to the Bale Mill which only operates on the weekends but is still an amazing historical landmark hiking destination. Now you have a choice, visit the Castle for a tour and to pick up some wine first or go picnic at the Old Faithful Geyser first and make your last stop the wine. Decisions. The Castello di Amorosa delights visitors of all ages and is a must see. Allow plenty of time to roam the castle both in the courtyard and down in the lower levels where you will find the Torture Chamber and Armory. https://www.castellodiamorosa.com/ The Old Faithful Geyser in Calistoga is more than just a natural wonder. It now boasts, gardens, bocce and corn hole, a geology museum and a variety of animals. You are encouraged to stay all day and picnic. http://www.oldfaithfulgeyser.com/ After driving up Hwy 29 you may choose to take in the scenery all the way back south on Silverado trail. Even just driving through the sweet town of Calistoga gets you planning your next up valley adventure. Rather stay in Napa?
