Looking to support local restaurants? This list shows what most restaurants are offering at this time.
I hope this finds you managing well and staying healthy.
A big THANK YOU to those working in essential businesses.
Real Estate has been named an essential business although we are only able to show vacant properties at this time. Buyers are finding less competition and getting offers accepted.
We are still getting people to their next phase of life even during our shelter in place.
One client even had their offer on a house accepted without ever walking inside the house until the county allowed vacant houses to be shown. Happily, they saw the house during their inspection period and still love it!
This escrow was still able to close thanks to the hard work of local lenders and Realtors. 4 Skycrest Way is a 4bedroom/3bathrooom, 2,458sq ft house. We accepted an offer in 1 week and it sold for asking price of $950,000. www.4skycrestway.com
Ask me about off market opportunities while there is less buying competition!
My daughter turned 14 this week and we had to get creative to help her celebrate! The GIGG kicked off her morning as she woke up to our house being flocked. Then we kept her on multiple zoom calls with friends and family. A few small gifts and her favorite foods. We topped it all off with a surprise 20 car parade of friends and family with cars decorated and honking. It was so good to see everyone and feel the love for Allison!
The Wall Street Journal Published this article on how to suspend your mortgage payments during this coronavirus turmoil. It defines certain terms and has an informative Q & A. I encourage you to call your mortgage company and document everything in writing. Be proactive.
I helped start a group called Rebuild Napa after the fires and now we have repurposed the group to support local businesses. We are publishing their current offerings. Please send me any local business promotions we could add and check our Rebuild Napa on Facebook @napacommunity to see what is available.
Right before we had to shelter in place, I won a little award naming me in the top 10% of Sales Associates Internationally!
I wanted to share that good news on this rainy, pandemic day!
Also, yesterday it was announced that Residential Real Estate is now listed as an essential service in the March 28, 2020 Federal list of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers.
Coldwell Banker is still looking into the details of this and at Napa County and Napa City standards again as the most restrictive standard regarding what qualifies as an essential service will still govern the activities of a Realtor.
At this point we know:
1. No open houses should be held.
2. Showings should be done virtually, if at all possible.
I will share more information as it becomes available as I know many of you are still browsing homes as a few more have trickled onto the market. I am still working so feel free to contact me with any questions.
Looking for some great recipes to cook while sheltering at home? I’ve been cooking Ayesha Curry’s recipes and a few more. I share them on Instagram so follow me @jgass0

Coldwell Banker has a new logo focusing on the star as a symbol of excellence and to guide you home!
This goes nicely with my tag line: “Home Is Where Your Story Begins”.
I hope you are finding new ways to enjoy your home!

during these challenging times. I have many community resources to help with any need.
There are no open houses scheduled for today. California Association of Realtors has sent out the following information:
“The real estate industry is not exempt from this prohibition except as needed to maintain “continuity of operation … of … construction, including housing construction.”
Therefore, REALTORS® should cease doing all face-to-face marketing or sales activities, including showings, listing appointments, open houses and property inspections. Clients and other consumers are also subject to these orders and should not be visiting properties or conducting other business in person.”
Stay well and stay in contact!

Saturday, March 7th Women InPower is hosting their 3rd annual International Women’s Day Celebration at Copia. I have recently attended another event hosted by this group and was impressed by the desire the women participating have to support women in this community. I met winery owners, business owners, winemakers, and other professionals who were eager to connect and utilize the services offered by women in Napa.
I am sponsoring and attending this year’s event and thought you might be interested in attending as well. The day at Copia starts with a Bubble Reception at 12:30 by the new bubble wine bar opening in downtown Napa, Be Bubbly. There will be guest speaker and a panel of speakers. These speaker sessions are separated by a networking hour with wineries pouring and sponsors set up in a marketplace setting.
See the entire program and get your ticket at
Hope to see you there!
Until then, check out today’s open houses which are below.
Every week I am asked for a recommendation of a local professional or business. I love connecting people! I am a big fan of supporting each other and using people I can trust to provide high quality service. I want to patronize the businesses of those who are part of my village. Two communities I am a part of in Napa have set up business directories so we can utilize trusted professionals within our organization. Some of these people I see almost every day and didn’t realize what business they owned or service they provide to our community. Here is the link to the business directory at St. John’s Lutheran. This is my children’s school. It is wonderful to be able to support the community helping me to raise my children. So, if you are looking for a stump removal service, looking for a Dr. recommendation or always wondered who own’s Allison (In Wine Country) in St. Helena, take a look and support our local community.
While you are out supporting our wonderful community, check out some of the open houses below.
My family spent the end of the week at my daughter’s last Lutheran Elementary Schools Tournament in Portland. She and my son competed in a variety of events including piano, dance, swimming and singing. We also celebrated my son’s 12th birthday and enjoyed all of what Portland has to offer.
Some highlights worth checking out next time you are in Portland:
Highly Recommended by our friends (we just didn’t have enough time):
All of today’s open houses are here for you. Let me know if you have questions.
Growing up in Napa I learned the value of community. I strive to serve the neighborhoods that I grew up in and the people who desire to make Napa their home. I help people connect to the community of Napa with a focus on continuing to build the unique community of Napa and my belief that home is where your story begins.
