Portuguese sweet bread, Lenten flower tasks, Honeybaked Ham, usual tricky Easter Egg hiding places….My parents raised me on countless traditions. My 3 siblings and I have come to appreciate these traditions and carry them on in our own families today. These annual festivities bring us back home every year for important holidays such as Easter. Every Easter I look forward to eating Portuguese Sweet Bread whether homemade or from the Portuguese Bakery in Santa Clara. It is true that my immediate family has traditions similar to those I grew up with that we carry out on our own every Easter morning but then we all go back to my mom’s for an annual Easter Egg Hunt, with eggs hidden in some usual tricky places, and dinner largely consisting of the same foods annually. We wouldn’t miss it and it occurs to me that holidays and traditions really make a home and a family complete. I hope you enjoy your home and family this Easter weekend! Open houses are more plentiful Saturday due to the holiday, so here are the lists for both Saturday and Sunday below for your reference. Happy Easter!
