I hope everyone is staying cool, entertained and enjoyed last night’s dramatic change in weather.
This summer, my family has been enjoying Kubb, pronounced “KOOB”. Kubb is a Swedish lawn game that can be played by people of all ages, learned quickly and plays at a perfect pace for relaxing and socializing. Easy to carry and set up, we’ve played it everywhere from our front lawn, Balboa Park in San Diego, the beach and Napa Valley Country Club.
How to Play:
Knock over wooden blocks by throwing wooden batons at them. "Kubbs" are placed at both ends of the pitch, and the "king", a larger wooden block, is placed in the middle of the pitch. The ultimate objective of the game is to knock over the "kubbs" on the opposing side of the pitch, and then to knock over the "king", before the opponent does. Once the opposing team knocks down a kubb, you must toss it to the other side and knock those down before you can knock down your own kubbs. Games can last from five minutes to well over an hour.
I hope you enjoy this game recommendation. I’d love to hear about your favorite game this summer!
This week I received two wonderful recommendations. One from a past client and the other from someone who attended one of my open houses. Both knew people who needed help buying a house in Napa. The highest compliment I can receive are your referrals. If you know anyone who is thinking about buying or selling please connect us so I can guide them even through the earliest part of the process.

These houses, in great Napa neighborhoods, were purchased by my clients in the last week. It is interesting to see what is selling and for how much. All were multiple offer situations. Two buyers provided free short term rent backs to the seller and all offered a quick close with the help of local lenders. Contact me if you have any questions about buying or selling right now.

We couldn’t get out of town for our 15th wedding anniversary so we enjoyed a much needed getaway in downtown Napa at White House Inn. Located on Brown St., a short walk to Angele, Celadon and Morimoto, this gem has beautiful grounds, private pool cabanas and a delicious breakfast.
Spend the day by the pool and hot tub with a bottle of wine. Enjoy the spacious, private rooms. Walk into town for dinner. Sleep in their luxurious beds.
After enjoying a gourmet breakfast, we left relaxed and refreshed and it was only a 10 minute drive home! Everyone should take some time out and recharge. Treat yourself!
It was a pleasure to help my clients navigate my hometown and find a place to call home. They are going to be an amazing addition to our community. They were looking for a home where they can bring people together for fellowship so we found them the most spacious house in the neighborhood with an inviting backyard. Welcome to Napa!
Many people are moving out of and into Napa right now. Let me know if you know someone I can help. Building community in my hometown is my favorite!
Our family has experienced all of the emotions that comes with living through a global pandemic. We’ve watched the news, prayed and stayed connected to family and friends. A couple of weeks into shelter in place, we began a list of ways we enjoyed this time together and want to keep even once all of this is behind us.
These are just some of what made it on our list:
What new ways of life will do you plan to keep post pandemic?
I have been sharing with you that the forecast for the year is fewer sales but slightly higher prices. Well, the Napa Register reported today that is exactly what we saw in the month of April. As real estate was deemed an essential business and Realtors got back to work, there have been fewer sales but prices remain higher than a year ago. I am seeing multiple offer situations for specific neighborhoods and price ranges. Many listings are holding firm on their prices while taking a bit longer to sell. Buyers hoping for pandemic bargains are finding just the opposite.
I am proud to have my listing at 1441 Sycamore St. featured in this article. It highlights the outstanding work of my team: Sergio Guerrero, Contractor; Lori Bitter of Dalia Staging and Darren Loveland, Photographer. It helps that the seller and I priced the house at Napa County’s median price for April of $675,000. ;)
