Kick off to summer, Free ice cream & Cedar Open house

6/10/2018

Happy Summer!  We are officially on summer vacation in our house and energy is high!  We kicked off the summer break with sleepovers for both children and my husband went off to Monterey to complete a Spartan race.

As a family, we celebrated the end of school and beginning of summer with a few of our favorite neighborhoods.  We passed out free ice cream in the neighborhood where I grew up, the neighborhood where I live now and the neighborhood where I spent a lot of time as a child and sold my first house.  It was fun having time to connect with those great communities.  Monticello Park drew a crowd that enjoyed sharing the summer spirit with all that drove by.  Alderwood Ct.  popped so many bottles of bubbles I lost count.  Stillson St. incorporated us into their graduation parties!  An amazing 3 days with a few of our favorite neighborhoods!

Today you can find me at 1507 Cedar Ave.  This is off Jefferson, blocks from downtown.  Come see this 3 bedroom, 3 bath offered at $1,175.000.
Beautiful park-like setting on a quiet single-block street in a highly sought after area close to downtown. Setting includes mature redwoods, pond and access to creek. Home has been updated with hardwood maple flooring, wood-clad windows, and stone tile in master bath. In addition interior of home is freshly painted and bedrooms carpeted for new owner. A two-car attached garage exists plus a detached two-car carport with electricity.

Giants Game & Other San Francisco Day Trips

6/3/2018

The weather is exactly perfect for a day in San Francisco.
Yesterday, my family and I headed in to spend time with my brother and to watch the Giants beat the Phillies.  Since it was a night game we wanted to drive to San Francisco. Whenever we head to a part of the City where I am not certain of parking, I use Parking Panda to find, reserve and pay for an ideal parking spot before we even leave home. https://www.parkingpanda.com/  We parked easily once arriving to San Francisco just blocks from AT&T Park and attempted to spend some time at the Coin-Op, a pub and game room, however this establishment is closed to those under 21 years old all day. http://coinopsf.com/  So, we grabbed an Uber and headed to Union Square to Golden Gate Tap Room http://www.ggtaproom.com/ where we found many large screen TV’s to watch the Warriors most recent overtime repeating constantly while we played shuffleboard and other arcade games.  Drinks and food were a nice start to our day but we had bigger plans.  We walked 3 blocks to the Fairmont , arrived 5 minutes to 5:00PM and were the third group in line to be seated in the bar at the Tonga Room http://www.tongaroom.com/   when it opened right at 5:00PM.  The atmosphere reminded the kids of Pirates of the Caribbean and they thought it was hilarious when we ordered a Pupu platter.  The drinks were legitimate tiki drinks, not oversweet but so strong and tasty.  An Uber returned us safely to our car so we could change into pants and grab sweatshirts for later before we talked the couple blocks to the Giants game.  It was a 7:05PM game and we didn’t need our sweatshirts until the 6th inning.  What a rare treat!

Our other favorite trips to San Francisco include:

  1.  Golden Gate Park- park at Children’s Koret Park and Carousel to enjoy the DeYoung Museum http://sfrecpark.org/destination/golden-gate-park/de-young-museum/ , picnic at Koret park http://sfrecpark.org/destination/golden-gate-park/koret-childrens-quarter/  (where you will want to bring some cardboard to sit on and slide down the concrete slides built into the hill and some cash for the carousel) and spend the rest of the day at California Academy of Sciences.

  1. Japantown http://sfjapantown.org/ - easy parking in Japantown’s clean parking garages at Japan Center Garage.  Peruse the many shops, enjoy a fun crepe or other Japanese treats. In the mood for amazing Indian Food and cocktails? DOSA on Fillmore https://www.dosasf.com/  is our favorite and is just across the street.  Walk a couple of blocks to Van Ness and take a city bus down to Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39 and Ghiradhelli square before grabbing a bus or Uber back to your car.

  1. Chinatown- Take the ferry over to San Francisco’s Ferry Building.  Walk to California St. to take a cable car straight up to Chinatown (be sure to have cash to pay for your ride once on board).  Our favorite Dim Sum in Hang Ah http://www.hangah1920.com/, also the oldest Dim Sum in Chinatown.  You can let the kids play at the YMCA park next door right after you eat and then walk back downhill through the financial district to the Ferry Building to make the journey home.  While in Chinatown, visit the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory https://www.yelp.com/biz/golden-gate-fortune-cookies-san-francisco,  an Eastern Medicine store, grocery store, or expand your horizons and seek out an upstairs Buddhist temple or visit Old St. Mary’s Cathedral https://www.oldsaintmarys.org/ .  Once back at the Ferry Building, the Exploratorium is only a few blocks away if you would like to extend the day https://www.exploratorium.edu/ .

Our next trip to plan: Angel Island and Alcatraz.
I’d love to hear your San Francisco trips and tips!

What Our Clients Are Saying

"Jenny is an amazing realtor. She made our ‘first-time home buying’ experience very easy and smooth. Jenny is very thoughtful and caring; we always felt like she took care of our interests and priorities. When a difficult situation came up, Jenny helped us work through the problem in a professional and supportive way. The whole experience, start to finish, could not have gone more smoothly. I would recommend her to any family member or friend of mine!!"
